Saturday Shoot

So we went to the Renn Faire again yesterday only to find that it poured most of the day. Kinda sad. The weather was supposed to be bad again today so we called the shoot a "no go." We only have 6 more full faire days to shoot, but that should be plenty.
On the upside we got two marvelous interviews. The first was with a woman who designs a full line of renaissance-wear and she and a group of local women make them. She can be found on the web at Wolfstone Kilt Co.
The other interview was with a man who makes leather fantasy masks. He spoke to us at some length about the interplay between fantasy and history and how these "forces" work together in the space of the faire. Really a very interesting take and frankly, one I am tempted to incorporate into out story.

Here's a few more pictures for you:

Initial Post

So this is the first post in a series in which we will attempt to document the production of a feature-length documentary on the Maryland Renaissance Festival.

Yesterday the Producer, Director and Executive Producer traveled to the RennFest and shot a lot of great footage.

In the photo on the left myself and our Director got a chance to shoot a quick interview with King Henry VIII! He really looks like him too, no?

Anyhow, we just secured a second shooting unit complete with director and gear and we will be returning to the RennFest this Saturday to shoot some interviews and a bunch of b-roll. Stay tuned 'cause we'll be adding some videos to this blog as well.

Here's a couple more shots of our first "real" shooting day.
